What format are clips supplied as? All clips are supplied as M2T  files encoded using the mpeg2 HDV codec. Files are provided in one of the following formats, 720/30P, 720/25P 1080/24P, 1080/50i and 1080/60i. Why not down load one of our $1.00 sample clips to check compatibility for yourself..

What if I cant use m2t mpeg2 files?. Our files are encoded using industry standard mpeg2 HDV encoding. There are many applications for both PC´s and Mac´s available that can quickly and easily convert these files to quicktime MOV´s or AVI files. We recommend Squared 5 Mpeg Stream Clip which is available for free for both the Mac and PC.

How do I get standard definition clips? You can use software such as MpegStreanclip to convert our high quality HD clips to standard definition.

Clip Quality? Our clips are of very high quality and we believe they are good enough for most productions. All clips are checked by staff before being put online. If you would like copies of the files as DVCPRO HD or XDCAM HD or HDCAM please contact us for a quote.

Upload File Specifications. Currently you need to upload 3 files (We are working on this). The master clip should be 1440x1080 or 1280x720 in size and encoded using Mpeg2 in a m2t wrapper with a bitrate of 25Mbps. In essence we want files encoded using HDV compression (mpeg2 @ H14). Ideally files should be taken directly from the master clip off the tape or file. Progressive clips should be encoded into interlace files (upper field first) so as to retain generic HDV compatibility. The master clip cannot be more than 350Mb in size. As well as the master file you must provide a flash or wmv preview file that should be the same as the master clip and not more than 10mb in size. This should be 480x270, flash is preferred. You may watermark the preview file if you wish. The third file is a frame grab from the master clip. This should be a jpeg file 640x360.

Commission. We pay 50% commission directly into the paypal account associated with your registered email address within 30 days of reciept of cleared payments. You can check you sales and commission online via the account management tools.

Why HDV files? We chose HDV m2t to provide broad compatibility using an industry standard codec. The HDV codec offer quality good enough for most productions with a small file size. Many of our contributors will be shooting on HDV so files can be provided without any generation loss.
